In Ekiti state, late comers at the state secretariat are made to roll, prostrate, kneel before the ‘Man of the People’, Governor Ayodele Fayose.
A surprise visit by the governor yesterday at the secretariat caught many unawares, and so to appease Gov. Fayose the civil servants went on their knees, rolled in their suits and asked for mercy.

As if this wasn’t enough, Gov. Fayose made it known (via his twitter account) that their punishment had not been served: “Workers coming late to work will no longer be allowed. 31 workers who came late today begged, but they will be punished.”
In reaction, the state chapter of Trade Union Congress has commended the governor for “building a virile civil service” and pleaded with Gov. Fayose to pardon erring workers.
