Even if Nigerians didn’t know who goes by the name Adele before now, I’m sure the current “competition” over her hit single – hello, must have increased her popularity amongst Nigerians.
The soul singer has made her way into the history books as she broke the single-week U.S. album sales record with her latest chart-topping album 25.
According to music sales tracking company, Nielsen, the highly anticipated album, which the singer withheld from music streaming services has sold at least 2,433,000 copies in just four days.
Hence, making 25 the fastest-selling album in 10 years, after former record holder, Nsync’s No Strings Attached album, sold 2,416,000 in 2000 during its first week of release.
But really, if we ever expected anyone to shatter all sorts of music records in the world, I don’t think we would have had another choice asides Adele.
