Too Expensive To Run? Young APC Presidential Candidate Drops Out of 2019 Race Over ‘Huge’ Cost of Nomination Form [OPEN]

Adamu Garba, a 2019 Presidential aspirant under the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has withdrawn from the race over his inability to pick the nomination form of the party due to exorbitant cost.

The APC had earlier fixed the cost of nominations forms for its presidential candidates at N45 million.

Garba who took to his twitter handle, @adamugarba, to intimate his followers of the news in a series of tweets, said setting the fees for purchasing the nomination forms at such a high amount sets a bad precedent for young people who have shown interest in running for elective positions, especially through the APC.

The APC recently said the cost of its nomination form was fixed upon multiple considerations, including the need to use the proceeds to organise direct primaries.
