Toyosi Akerele Appointed As Judge Of Get Started Africa Entrepreneurial Challenge

Nigerian Entrepreneur & Youth Development Expert, Toyosi Akerele – Ogunsiji has been appointed a Judge of the GET STARTED AFRICA Entrepreneurship Challenge organized by Nescafe, the World’s Leading Coffee Brand.

“This year’s ‘Get Started Africa’ is about creating a deeper connection with the youths and inspiring them,” said Roman Irrure, Business Executive Manager of Nescafé  at Nestlé Central and West Africa. “It’s not just about dreaming, but making dreams more concrete and powerful.”

With the help of influencers from various West African countries, the programme will support young entrepreneurs through funding and coaching. It will also foster their entrepreneurial spirit and encourage peer networking.

The Nescafé team and a group of popular and influential West African bloggers and entrepreneurs will select four finalists based on relevance and public vote. The finalists will be provided with mentoring sessions via Google Hangout before they present their dreams to a jury. The winner will receive financial support of $30 000 to “Get Started” on his/her dream.

When contacted by Journalists to confirm this News, Toyosi said “I feel truly honored to be announced as one of the 3 Judges across the Continent alongside Adama Paris, a globally recognized Senegalese Fashion Entrepreneur & Founder, Dakar Fashion Week and Fred Swaniker, Founder – Africa Leadership Academy”.

Toyosi who was announced by First Lady of the United States as one of her Personal Inspirations in a Televised Address, is a recipient of numerous awards including recent recognition by Crans Montana Forum in Europe as a New Leader of Tomorrow, This Day Awards for Nigeria’s Women of Distinction, The Nigerian Youth Leadership Awards jointly organized by Leap Africa, International Youth Foundation and NOKIA. She is also one of the honorees’ of the Top 100 Young Leaders’ Recognition at the Nigeria’s Centenary Celebrations by the Federal Government.

She was also named by Forbes Magazine & AFK Insider as Top 20 youngest Power Women in Africa and she has also just being announced as a mentor for the 2015 Africa Entrepreneurship Awards initiated by the Bank of Africa as well.
