TS Columnist: THE LONELY DAYS – Bolatito Braithwaite Ubakanwa

woman (1)

Being lonely doesn’t signify the absence of people, but rather the presence of a void. How many times does it feel that one is just alone in this unpredictable world?

How many times does one feel that no one else understands?  There are times one walks through a crowded place and yet it feels so empty. Sometimes you have no words to describe the pains you feel because it’s a kind of pain that leaves no physical imprint.

We struggle to describe it, but the feeling gets stuck in a far place in our minds. Food from the best gourmet chefs tastes like rubber in these times of despair and we even acknowledge greetings as if we are in a trance.

Loneliness can kill faster than self-medication; it can turn the world’s most cheerful person into the worst introvert. It can ruin a destiny, it can cause sudden death.

So if you are lonely right now and you feel the need to give up, please don’t!

It’s for a while, look on the bright side and believe.

Lonely times are test times; they are to strengthen you for the great tasks ahead. You have to pass your test and come out smelling like a rose.

Yes! You won’t give up, you can’t give up!

Fill up the void with faith. Shake off the lonely feeling and rejoice.  It’s all over now, you can smile now and feel the gentle breeze on your face.

Arise and take your life back from loneliness and despair. You deserve it, you should own it.

Remember if God is in it, it will end in praise.

Sista Bola.
