A teacher has been smashed by officials of the Katsina State Police Command for allegedly defiling a 9-year-old pupil at Nasarawa Annex Primary School in the Faskari Local Government Area of the state.
The 33-year-old teacher, Hamisu Galadima, said to be a serial rapist, was said to have lured the victim into the staff room and gained carnal knowledge of her and subsequently instructed her to keep mum about the encounter or he would beat her up.
According to Punch, the teacher committed the act sometime in July 2016 but was finally arraigned on Monday, August 22, 2016.
The victim was said to have informed her father, Hashimu Mohammed, about the incident and he went ahead to file a report at the Faskari Police Division.
He was arrested and subsequently arraigned before a Katsina Magistrate’s Court and was remanded in prison custody.
The case was adjourned till September 26, 2016.
A police source said the suspect was being investigated over five other rape cases.
“Presently, we are having five different First Information Report on Galadima on cases of rape apart from the one he appeared for at the magistrate’s court. He has already been arraigned before three other magistrates in connection with rape cases,” said the source.
