A 28-year-old unrepentant criminal, Deji Ayoola, who was arrested for stealing some money from a commuter allegedly stole some money from the policewoman who was interrogating him in Lagos State.
Ayoola stole N1, 200 which fell out from the pocket of the police woman during interrogation at the Rapid Response Squad office in Alausa, Ikeja, on Saturday.
The suspect had earlier been arrested by the men of the RRS in the Ojodu Berger area for allegedly stealing a wallet containing N14, 000 from a commuter identified as Ayodele Akerele.
During interrogation, N1, 200 fell from the policewoman’s pocket after she removed her mobile phone from her pocket and the suspect simply took the money but was exposed by another suspect who caught him.
Ayoola blamed the devil for pushing him into committing the act.
He has been transferred to the Lagos State Task Force on Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit, for prosecution, according to the state police spokesperson, SP Dolapo Badmos.
