The most expensive footballer on earth, Paul Pogba is ready to make his second Manchester United debut against Southampton tomorrow.
It will be recalled that the French International made left Old Trafford for just £800,000 in 2012 only to rejoin them in a mind-blogging £109m record signing.
Pogba is ready to play “some minutes” as he and his Manchester United team-mates step it up a gear for Friday’s clash with Southampton.
Jose Mourinho who will be taking charge of his first home game, confirmed that the Frenchman is likely to make his second debut for club in the Premier League clash at Old Trafford.
After an extended summer break following his exploits in Euro 2016, the 23-year-old is set to feature against the Saints following a suspension forcing him to miss out last week.
Mourinho told MUTV: “We played against Leicester with players with less training than him and we saw that match as a way to improve them and accelerate the process.
“With Paul it’s a bit the same – not one single minute of any pre-season match but almost two weeks of work with us, sometimes with the group, sometimes separately, and the condition is okay to play some minutes.”
In a related development, Chris Smalling is set to return for United after he missed the opening game of the season following his sending off in last season’s FA Cup final victory over Crystal Palace.
