According to the guys at Battery University who claim if your gadget is kept charging after reaching capacity, the battery’s chemistry could damage because it would be in a constant ‘high-stress’ state.
To them, it is even better your smartphone is never fully charged than over charged.
They recommend you charge your phone at intervals as this extends the Lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery’s lifespan.
These batteries are widely used in smartphones, including iPhones.
They wrote: “Li-ion does not need to be fully charged, nor is it desirable to do so.
“In fact, it is better not to fully charge, because a high voltage stresses the battery.”
