Manchester United captain, Wayne Rooney, has backed the former English champions to get back to winning ways after last winning a major title in the 2012/2013 season under legendary coach, Sir. Alex Ferguson.

The Red Devils has struggled to capture another trophy, and went through a harrowing experience under former Everton manager, David Moyes, following the departure of Ferguson finishing 7th position on the EPL log.

Manchester United’s quest for success has continued under new manager, Louis van Gaal, and the 30 year old Rooney believe the team’s chances are high.

Rooney, who has scored 6 goals in 12 games in all competitions, said assuredly, “We want to get back to winning trophies, of course. That is why you play football – to try and be successful, certainly at this club.

“In the last few years we haven’t been good enough.

“There has been a big change in the club over the last few years and it’s now starting to settle back down into a good rhythm with what the manager wants from us and we are improving.

“If we keep going the way we are, keep improving the way we are, then we will have a good chance of being successful,” he added.

Manchester United clash with Russian club, CSKA Moscow, on Wednesday in the UEFA Champions League and currently lie in 3rd place with 3 points, same with CSKA and PSV Eindhoven, on the Group B table.
