Brazil coach, Dunga has defended his reason for leaving out Liverpool duo of Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino from his squad.
The Liverpool duo of Coutinho and Firmino have been left out of the team that will face Argentina and Peru in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers next month.
Dunga has stated that the omission of the Kop stars reflected the competitive nature of his squad, adding that their replacements, Kaka and Ricardo Oliveira have proven themselves worthy.
Coutinho and Firmino were forced to withdraw from the Selacao team that faced Chile and Venezuela in October due to injuries.
Dunga, while speaking at a press conference on Thursday, said, “You cannot leave an empty seat. If the guy comes in, sits down and plays well, he will remain in the squad.
“The players have to seize their opportunities,” he added.
