Again, football forward, Ogenyi Onazi has terminated his contract with Turkish Trabzonspor over unpaid allowances.
The Nigerian international star, last summer, left Lazio after playing “the final two months of last season without receiving a dime.”
Onazi who recently captained the Super Eagles in their 2-0 home reverse to South Africa in the qualifier for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, signed a four-year-deal with Trabzonspor in August, 2016.
Speaking on behalf of the 24-year-old Onazi, his agent, Ayodele Stephen Makinwa revealed to BBC Sport that they have written to the Black Sea Storm about their decision.
“Now we are looking for a quick solution with regards his next destination.
“We have an agreement with the club which strictly states that the player has a right to terminate his contract if the club failed to pay him for two months or more.
“We’ve taken a decision based on the violation of this agreement as Onazi is being owed for more than the stipulated period.”
Onazi in person is yet to comment on this.
