An unidentified catholic priest, was reportedly burnt while at a visit to his girl friend at Allen Avenue in Awka, Anambra State.

According to the  Punch, the priest who was burnt by gas explosion, was immediately flown outside the country so as to avoid traces while the said girlfriend lost her life during the incident.

The girl died on the spot, but the priest was hurriedly smuggled away and we now hear that they have flown him abroad, apparently to cover traces. Are there no hospitals in Nigeria?

I have told them to stop covering this story. What do they want to achieve by hiding this story? The truth should be said and shame the devil.”

A source told the Punch.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ali Okechukwu, said the incident is yet to be reported to the police.
